No, seriously, look at the current Austin FC roster, see that Gyasi Zardes is the only striker on it, and you might be wondering if Will Bruin could make a return to Verde for the 2024 season.
It was about 51 weeks ago that Will Bruin appeared in Austin FC camp as a trialist, eventually finding his way onto the first-team roster as U22 Initiative striker Moussa Djitté was loaned out — possibly to never return back to Austin though the club still retains his rights today.
Bruin didn’t get activated a lot in 2023, but brought a seniority to the striker group — which also included Maxi Urruti — that led Austin FC Comms to tweet out an observation that the trio collectively scored “243 career MLS regular season goals and 16 MLS Cup Playoff goals” upon Bruin’s February signing.
